Kaduna PDP Guber Candidate Petitions NSA Over Billboard Removal

The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate for Kaduna State, Usman Shehu Bawa, has submitted an urgent petition to the National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, demanding an independent investigation into the alleged forceful dismantling of his campaign billboards by armed security operatives.

The petition, dated Thursday, 22nd October 2026, details an incident along the Jere corridor in Kagarko Local Government Area, where uniformed personnel reportedly arrived at the site in three patrol vehicles, tore down the campaign materials, and threatened to shoot residents who attempted to photograph or film the operation.

Bawa, popularly known as Shehu ABG, urged the Office of the National Security Adviser to establish whether the operatives belonged to the Nigerian Armed Forces or another statutory agency, determine who authorised the deployment, and investigate the reported threats against civilians.

The complaint has also been copied to the Chief of Defence Staff, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, and the Convener of the National Peace Committee, coming amid earlier concerns raised by the Kaduna PDP over alleged state-backed intimidation of outdoor advertising vendors across the state.
