The Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals, Nigeria’s pioneer professional body for non-interest finance practitioners, will host its 2026 membership induction ceremony on Friday, October 30, 2026.
The investiture formally elevates qualified practitioners, scholars, and executive trainees into the ranks of Associate Members and Fellow Members, marking a strategic intervention to close manpower and capacity deficits across Africa’s rapidly expanding non-interest financial ecosystem. Led by the institute’s President, Professor Tajudeen Olalekan Yusuf, and the Registrar, Mr. Monsuru Musa, the ceremony will administer statutory oaths of practice to inductees who have satisfied rigorous academic curricula and ethical standards required to structure Shari’ah-compliant market transactions.
The induction celebrates two primary professional tiers representing distinct career milestones. The Associate tier targets mid-level practitioners grounded in Islamic commercial jurisprudence, non-interest asset management, and microfinance operations. Conversely, the Fellowship cadre – the highest professional rank conferred by the body – honours senior executives with over 15 years of leadership in corporate banking, regulatory policy, academia, and ethical investment promotion.
The ceremony will feature an executive investiture lecture delivered by seasoned banking leaders from pioneering institutions, including Jaiz Bank and Lotus Bank. The presentation will examine professional governance, the mitigation of transaction risk, and strategies for balancing commercial profitability with grassroots financial inclusion.
Following their formal induction, the new members will obtain practice designations and join the body’s technical advisory network, which collaborates with financial regulators – including the Central Bank of Nigeria – on statutory frameworks governing sovereign Sukuk issuances, Takaful insurance products, and ethical financial technology integration.
